Summer Activities with your Child!

Some fun teaching activities for this summer!

Here are some fun, wholesome activities to inspire you and your child this summer.

Connect with your Child

  • Explore a new park to further develop the natural curiosity of your child
  • Guide your child in preparing homemade ice cream, homemade lemonade, homemade dessert or a fruit smoothie. This helps children trust their ability to care for themselves and develops their self-confidence.
  • Watch or listen to a children’s story online (Youtube) or read stories to your child. Better yet, become a true storyteller for your child and throw your passion into your re-telling of your old favorites.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch with your children in your own backyard. Have a healthy meal and take the time to relax with your child by simply lying down or watching the clouds go by. See what imaginary animals you can outline in the clouds together.
  • Let your child organize a family night activity. Either play a game, decide what the family dinner will be (and cook together) or watch a movie together. It is important for your child’s self-confidence to know that he can plan a good,  fun, nourishing moments for the whole family!

Arts and Crafts activities

  • Do some Arts and Crafts activities to encourage your child’s creativity and imagination like painting, drawing, scrapbooking, jewelry, creating your own postcards, origami art, finger painting, making costumes with recycled materials, seashell jewelry…
  • Create a summer “centerpiece” for the table filled with memories and activities of summer to help your child appreciate the moments you spend together
  • Create a visualization board with your child. Put everything on the board you two would like to accomplish in the coming weeks and months.

In your backyard!
